Table II, Sec. 2 (b) “Timed First Jump Off” also Stakes Class
The first round and jump off if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed. If the competitor has gone clean in the first round, the competitor will, without leaving the ring, upon an audible signal, commence the designated jump off course. Anyone leaving the ring before the jump-off will be considered to have retired.

Time starts as the horse crosses the finish line for the initial course. Ties will be broken by time in the first round.
